Kandestederne is about 14km south of Skagen, on the northern most tip of Denmark. It's a quiet and secluded place by the sea. It comprises a handful of holiday homes, a couple of hotels and lots and lots of sand dunes.
We stayed in a fabulous house overlooking the Rabjerg Mile, a huge migrating sand dune, for a week during March 2004.
This was the main landmark in Kandestederne. When I peered through the window all I could see was a little green kitchen table. It would be the perfect place to sit and have a cup of tea while watching the ocean beyond.
