We visited magical Venice for a long weekend in 2002.

I fell in love with the city's ruined grandeur.

Despite the miserable weather, we enjoyed exploring the island both on foot and by canal boat. Everywhere we went revealed little surprises; gorgeous shops, delicate bridges, stunning architecture, and the most amazing cafes to delight the "foodie" in all of us. I would love to go back . . .
